Tigor EV is to be tested by Global NCAP and has received a four-star safety rating. Tigor EV gets a 4-star safety rating for adult and child occupants. In a statement, Global NCAP notes that further improvement could be made to the Tigor by equipping the model with standard fitment of Electronic Stability Control (ESC), side-impact protection, 3 point belts in all seating positions, and ISOFIX connectors. Alejandro Furas, Secretary-General of Global NCAP says, “Tata has shown consistent safety improvements throughout its fleet range. The Tigor demonstrates that improvements are also possible with EV models, which can pose a technical challenge because of the electric powertrain system.” Growing charging infrastructure, government incentives, and rising prices of fossil fuels have led to people adopt EVs in India – Tata Motors. Tata Tigor EV 2021 Launched – Range, Specifications/Features
TATA claims it has a range of running 306 km (ARAI certified and under standard conditions). It can be charged using 15A home socket. If using a fast charger, the battery can be charged up to 80% in an hour. It has an eight-year and 160,000 kms battery and motor warranty and comes with Ziptron technology. Tigor EV gets an IP67 rated 26 kWh lithium-ion battery pack combined with an electric motor. The electric powertrain generates 73.75 hp of power and 170 Nm of torque. Tigor EV can accelerate to 0-60 kmph in 5.7 seconds and come with two-mode Sports and Drive. As per TATA motors, they have 640 electric charging stations all over India connecting major cities and highways which is still very little compare to international standards. As we know Tesla is launching in India which will be Tatas, the main competitor, in the EV segment. But obviously, Tesla is a luxury brand and their cars are much superior and more feature-packed than Tata but they will cost a lot more than our Indian brand.

A seven-inch Harman touchscreen infotainment system with four speakers and four tweeters is equipped with USB connectivity, AUX, and Bluetooth. The 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment panel with support for Android Auto, Apple CarPlay. Other features included a multifunctional steering wheel, power-folding ORVMs, push start/stop button a height-adjustable driver seat, automatic climate control, projector headlamps, new horizontal fog lamps with integrated LED DRLs, rear parking sensors with camera, new alloy wheels, and other amazing features. Boot space is rated at 316 liters.
Teal Blue color will be available at launch, The Tata Tigor EV will be available in just two exterior color options. Bookings for the model have already commenced for an amount of Rs 21,000. The Tata Tigor EV will be offered in three variants including XM, XZ+, and XZ+ dual-tone. On Tuesday officially launched Tata Tigor EV at a starting price of ₹11.99 lakh, going up to ₹13.14 lakh (ex-showroom).
