A few teachers have raised their objections against the MCQ-based examination in regards to the disparity matters. “For an MCQ question carrying equal weightage, the fact remains that a semblance of equity ought to be maintained. However, with the current marking scheme, the students attempting more questions for fewer marks have a larger margin of error. For example, a student has to get 45 questions right to score 35 marks in Physics, 40 questions for 40 marks in Maths, and 50 questions right for 35 marks in Biology,” explains Ms. Parul.
