Instructions For The Candiates Of Part-Time Foreign Language Linguist Guide Programme Northern Region

1. Entrance test for Part-Time Foreign Language Linguist Guides Programme – Northern Region will be held on 12th June 2010 (Saturday) at various centres of New Delhi.

2. Admit card for the entrance examination will be dispatched in due course of time.  However, if any candidate does not receive the admit card, he/ she may note down his/ her roll no. and centre from the website of IITTM and appear for the examination. He/ She should carry any identity proof having his/ her photograph while appearing for the exam.

3. The duration of the test is 2 hours. There are 100 objective type questions consisting of following areas (a) Knowledge of monuments/ tourism destinations around the area – 50 marks (b) History – 50 marks and (c) General knowledge – 100 marks.  Each question carries two marks. There will be no negative marking for wrong answers.  The question paper will be in your concerned language. 

4. Issuing of admit card to candidates for entrance exam is purely provisional.  The candidate appearing for the examinations should ensure that he/ she fulfills the eligibility conditions for admission to the examination.  The admission at all stages of the examination for which he/ she is admitted viz. written test, counseling/ document verification will be purely provisional, subject to his/ her satisfying the eligibility conditions.  If on verification at any time before or after the written test, counseling/ document verification, it is found that the candidate does not fulfill any of the eligibility conditions, his/ her candidature for the programme shall stand cancelled without any notice or further reference.  Revised Guidelines of Ministry of Tourism, (click here) Govt. of India can be read here.

5. Result of written test we be displayed by 17th June 2010 on IITTM website i.e. (www.iittm.org).

6. Counseling/ Document verification will be held at IITTM Gwalior on 19th & 20th June 2010 for successful candidates in written examination of Part-Time Foreign Language Linguist Guides Programme – Northern Region.

7. List of successful candidates in written examination for the purpose of Counseling/ Document verification will be displayed in the website of IITTM.  List of candidates will contain the batches and times slot to report for Counseling/ Document verification.

8. At the time of Counseling/ Document verification at Gwalior, candidates should bring the following in original as well as a set of copy attested by the gazetted officer.

   1. 10th marksheet (for age proof)

   2. 12th mark sheet

   3. Final year Graduation marksheet/ degree

   4. Employment certificate

   5. Proof of Domicile of Northern Region (Passport, PAN Card, Ration Card, Election Voter ID, Driving License and domicile certificate issued by the competent authority)

9. Please note that the date of advertisement (click here) was 21st August, 2008 and as per guidelines candidates must be graduate on this date.  Similarly, the candidates should be atleast 20 years of age on the date of the first advertisement i.e. 21.08.2008.

11. For any legal dispute in this connection jurisdiction will be restricted to High Court of Madhya Pradesh, Bench at Gwalior.

Institute has the right to change the date and venue for the abovesaid programme.
