Guide Training Programme

Institute has also conducted Guide Training Programmes for various state governments and corporations.  As per the guidelines of Ministry of Tourism, IITTM has also conducted Regional Level Guide Training Programme.  In the recent past, IITTM has conducted a Guide Training Programme for Northern region for more than 350 participants.  The duration of the training programme was of 16 weeks which includes 6 weeks classroom teaching and 10 weeks practical training.   During the training period, experts from academic institutes/Universities, industry and trade practitioners and policy planners have delivered lectures on various aspects related to Indian Society and Culture, awareness about tourism and hospitality, and Management & Behavioural skills.  IITTM is also conducting the Regional Level Guide Training Programme on all India basis for five regions i.e. north, south, east, west and north-east.  The entrance test has already been conducted at Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai and Guwahati for different regions.  Now the classroom teaching would be commenced at different regions as per the revised guidelines for Regional Level Guides.  IITTM is also planning to conduct Refresher level courses for Regional Level Guides at various places.
