Prof. Manjula Chaudhary, the new Director of the Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management with headquarters at Gwalior, has been associated with tourism education and the country’s first Masters degree tourism programme at Kurukshetra University. Prof. Chaudhary is an MBA and Ph.D. in Management. Dr. Chaudhary is the first woman to head this premier institution in the country that functions under the aegis of the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. .She hails from Haryana and was earlier the Chairperson of the Department of Tourism & Hotel Management, Kurukshetra University. Dr. Chaudhary is a renowned academician having more than 25 years of teaching experience. She has also held important administrative assignments in the Kurukshetra University at various times. She has made significant contribution to tourism teaching and research. Her articles have been published in leading journals and magazines. She has authored, co-authored and edited a number of books on Tourism. She has a rich experience of having organized a number of international and national conferences at the Kurukshetra University, has traveled widely and participated in number of conferences and seminars. She had guided a number of doctoral theses. Her academic interests lie in tourism marketing and business communication. She is an avid reader and loves to read on varied themes.
